Rushden Golf Course is a challenging and attractive 18 hole course, combining mature holes that have been played and developed for over 90 years with a range of new holes built to the highest specifications. The course offers stunning views across the local countryside and serious challenges to golfers of all handicaps and abilities.
It is a parkland course in a rural setting on the B645 to the east of Rushden and Higham Ferrers. Many of the generous fairways are guarded by trees and good use is made of fairway bunkers, often in play when the ridge and furrow of some of the fairways take their toll. The greens, generally in play throughout the year, are small and firm but very true and during the competition season quite fast. A small stream that crosses the course comes into play on many of the holes.
The new holes have been professionally designed and financed by club members with the help of the landowner, the Duchy of Lancaster.
Rushden is one of those rare courses that can offer a serious challenge to the scratch golfer and at the same time, a pleasant and enjoyable experience for the club golfer whatever their handicap.
